Use Cases
- Light Switch The light switch is a ubiquitous product in a home, a product that every generation is familiar with. With sensors and intelligence built into the light switch, lighting control and questions like who left my lights on, just fades away. AI in the cloud enables services like DIY security and Aging in Place anomaly detection.
- Air Conditioner and Heat Pumps Everyone is familiar with air conditioners and being energy heavy appliances in the home. Most air conditioners are zoned and centralized with one or two thermostats. Thermostats are the only logical control for this appliance. Connected thermostats are common but haven’t proven to be intelligent and understand user behavior. With BriteHome solution, a zone could be a split air-conditioner that has built-in sensing for occupancy, temperature, humidity and indoor air quality. AI models for HVAC can then automatically control the air conditioning for heating or cooling based on utility rate for time of day, occupancy. If the air conditioner has a built-in de-humidifier and vent control, it can even maintain humidity and air quality ventilation.
- Stoves
All of us have experience in forgetting to turn a stove off. There is no intelligence in modern stoves, unlike an Instapot that can auto-shutoff if there was less water or no water. Stoves can be made intelligent by using BriteHome’s sensing solution to understand the users preferences, occupancy and cooking conditions. If an issue is detected it can auto-shutoff the stove for safety reasons. AI models can be built-in for auto-adjusting the flame / heating levels based on the food being cooked. No more burning pots in the kitchen and causing smoke alarms to be triggered.
- Other Appliances
Similar to previous use cases, data can be generated from other appliances using the reference design and AI models can be built to make any appliance intelligent, beyond basic connectivity and only app/voice control.
